A member of the dachshund

A member of the dachshund list that I'm on has hired me to make sweaters for her babies! I am working on the first of 4 right now, and it's not coming along as well as I'd like. I'm using Red Heart, and it's just a bit too thick for the patterns I have. I know I should do a test gauge, but it seems so stupid because the gauge is only given in stocking stitch, and there IS NO stocking stitch in the pattern! I hate that. I made about half the sweater before I realized it was too big, by about 2", so I ripped and have started over again in the smaller size. Hopefully these will whip out now that I got past that. I hope so! I also started the sleeve of the AV sweater, I have a feeling that I'm not going to have enough yarn, and it's making me mad. >=( I will have to beg for a skein or two from the members of the knitlist and KnitU. Sigh.
[knitting: the doxie sweaters, AV sweater]
[fos: none still (how is this still possible?)]
[wim's: I'm dreaming of Christmas stockings at the moment. . .]
