I have been at my new job for just over a month now, and while I initially was doing very well in the "not getting sucked into every new project at once" department, I have now, officially, FAILED.
Since August 23rd, this is what I have started & finished:
Striped baby poncho and hat in Zara
Cashmere scarf
Kid hat in Zara Plus
Adult hat in Aurora Bulky
Asymmetrical poncho in Katia Nordic
Felted bag in Kujaku & eyelash
(all of the above are shop projects)
These projects are still on the needles but were started after 8/23:
Tagliatelli pullover (more than half done)
Mini bolero thing (just started today) me!
On deck:
Tagliatelli poncho/wrap
Book project (which I may not end up knitting b/c it's brutal on my hands)
STACATTO! (no, you didn't talk me out of it yet!)
Jacket in Ironstone wool I bought last week
Something in organic alpaca I also got last week (dude, why am I buying yarn at other shops!?!?! it's an illness, I tell you)
Of course, the above doesn't even make a dent in all the pre yarn-shop projects I already had on all my needles.
aside: you know you've got this illness when you just keep buying more needles rather than finish stuff to use the needles you already own
I am at that place where all I do is dream about new projects and wish I could knit in my sleep so I could try EVERYthing and try it NOW! This is kind of scary.
And the coming weeks are so jam-packed with fiber stuff, this is only going to get worse.
Sun, Oct 3rd: I'll be at the NYC Knit Out representing String
Fri, Oct 8th: Stitches East!
Sun, Oct 17th: Rhinebeck, baby!
I'm tired just thinking about all of this!
I swear that everytime I see the word “Rhinebeck” I get more excited.
And yes…it’s an illness. Don’t even try to resist.
Does String even have to cut you a paycheck? If I worked there, I would owe them! Good luck to you. I am a new knitter, but the addiction is inescapable. See you at the Knit Out.
