She's finished! Sorry for the headless shot, but I'm making a really scary face in this picture. ;o)
I used 6.5 skeins of Silk Garden on a size 8 needle (I knit loose), and it was finished in a week. I hate the dropping down stitches part in every project of this type, it's like watching half the work disappear! I figured out that you can get the same effect by doing a double YO instead of the knit stitch that will be unravelled, but you have to drop the YO's and do them again every row (right & wrong side). If I make another one, I will definitely do that instead. It just goes against my obsessive-compulsive knitting mantra to unravel my knitting on purpose. I know, I'm nuts. But if I'm ok with it, that's what matters, right?
Currently knitting a scarf in Classic Elite's new Obsession 100% cashmere -- this stuff is amazing. Chunky without being thick when knit up, it's perfect in so many ways and I love the colors. Will post a picture when it's ready. This yarn has been flying out of the store, so much so that we've reordered twice since it came in last week! I'm totally in love with it and will have to make myself a hat or something with it. The yarn should be listen on our site within the next few weeks but we have in it stock in every color right now. Yum.
Your Clapotis is splendid! That colorway is beautiful – I really love the jewel tones.
That is GORGEOUS! Sorry to comment months after the fact; I found your blog while looking for a Clapotis in 211. It’s impossible to guess at the Silk Garden colorways from pictures of skeins. I swear: if you look at three different pictures, you see three different colorways. Your photo was really helpful, and your Clapotis is fabulous. Thanks!
was the colorway 211? just curious,
