Crumpets

Here's my progress on Crumpets so far. I'm using Filatura Zara and size 6 needles. I'm almost to the end of the 3rd ball and I think I'll just make the skirt shorter, since it's for a bear, not a child. It measures approx 7" right now and I think that's probably good enough for Mr. Bear.

One thing I did notice is that the pattern says to use 36" long circulars but that's not possible if you're making the smallest sizes. I made the smallest size, and knit on 24" long circulars, but for the bodice I ended up doing the two-circular method so as not to pull everything out of proportion. Once you get to the skirt then there are more than enough stitches to use the longer lengths.

And for those waiting for the knitalong, Carole set up a blogspot group blog for the KAL, if you want to join:

Finished picture on Mr. Bear soon!

(I'm sure you can tell I'm back to having Monday's off as of today, no?)

Um-isn’t MR. Bear concerned about wearing a dress? Or is Mr. Bear really Ms. Bear? Or is this a freedom of dressing thing???? Just kidding around-the dress looks lovely, as does all of the Chiagu “offerings”. Well done!!!!!

May be a stupid question, but what does crumpets mean?

Crumpets are a pastry that is biscuit-like often eaten with tea, or at “tea” time.

Ivete — I’m making the 1yr size and this endless stockinette is killin me! And I already have the yarn and beads for a 2-yr old one, too. I just don’t know if I can do two in a row!
