Almost there

Of all the projects I have going right now, I keep working most steadily on this one, which is in its last stages of completion:

Auroracabled

This is the Aurora 8 cabled cardigan (which Kerstin of At My Knits End just finished, too!), I'm making it in a beautiful turquoise color which is a new color in this line (color 43 if you're wondering). It's GORGEOUS! I love Aurora 8 anyway, but this color just makes my day, it makes me happy just to look at the balls of yarn. I've finished all the pieces except the yoke, which you see still on the needles at the bottom of this picture.

I changed the sleeves completely from the original, because I don't like allover rib sleeves. I made mine wide and almost straight, I like the contrast between the st st sleeves and the cabled body. I also changed the yoke a bit by starting on size 3's instead of size 0's as instructed -- this was both because I didn't have size 0 circ's handy, and because I wanted the neck to be looser. We'll see if I like it after it's done! I already seamed the first sleeve and sweater side, so the finishing's 1/3 done. Should have this done next week, unless I get sidetracked (which as we all know has been known to happen more often than not).

Speaking of how much I love Aurora, I'm almost done with the crazy stripes sweater too, except there are still plenty of ends to weave in. And I have fuschia magenta 8 in line for another design. . . and an olive color waiting to be swatched for a men's gansey pattern . . . so if you thought I was only obsessive in my Koigu knitting, you were wrong! In the last 6 months I've knit with Aurora 8 and Aurora 4 six different projects, and I have at least 3 more planned at the moment.

It's been dreary and rainy here for a few days, and today it's pouring. My joints are killing me, especially my right hip. I can't wait until this front passes!

I loved the sweater that Kerstin finished and I love the color that you chose too. It will turn out splendidly.
