Ok I need your help!

Gentle readers, I need your opinions. I tried to pick a color for Little Rivers yesterday, but the best I could do was pick TWO colors and not make a decision. I took one skein of each home, made a swatch, and this is where you guys come in. Which one should I do?

Helpmepick

See that? That's my swatch, using both colors. That's Aurora 8 in 13, the blue, and 138, the grey (the color numbers being similar is some kind of strange coincidence, try not to read into that too much!).

The colors are pretty accurate in the picture, the blue is very demin-like and the grey is sort of brownish-grey heather. I like them both, and they both fit my criteria for this pullover, but I can't seem to pick one. I am ever so slightly leaning towards the blue, but only be a smidge. My worry about the grey is that it's a bit too dark, and this was the only grey I liked. So yeah, I think I'm going for blue. But I'm not sure.

So help me out here, readers, please?

What do you think? And keep in mind, this is the only project you'll see on this blog from Feb 10 - Feb 26th! ;o)

Thanks in advance!

I agree with Daphne. On my monitor the brown/grey doesn’t show the stitch definition like the blue does.

They’re both nice and I’d say both if that had been an option but I went with the blue since it’s my favorite colour.

I’m going with the blue, too, although I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

what Daphne said. (well, minus the part about the cardi. I think I lack the ambition necessary for the Knitting Olympics. : )

I made Little Rivers years ago in the original yarn and I love it. I didn’t try it in 16 days though!

I like the blue, but I’d be wary of knitting this design in the Aurora. You may have more experience of the yarn than I, so it may not be a problem for you. I find Aurora grows, and grows, and grows some more, lengthwise when blocked. Stillwater is already a very oversized piece which is great, but I’d be afraid of ending up with something that would scrape the floor.

I like the blue because it shows off the stitches. And it looks like I’m in the majority!

I think that a “heathery gray” Little Rivers sweater would be very chic. The blue is probably lovely but it reminds me to much of the limited colour selection found in bad catalogue shopping.

The gray Little Rivers on Stephanie’s blog looks great, and you can see the stitch detail of the overall pattern.

You can actually see the stitch pattern in the blue. The “gray” doesn’t look gray at all to me on the monitor; it looks brown. I like brown but like I said, it obscures the stitch pattern. (Note that I will be knitting an all-brown, with beads, lace cardi from 2/10 to 2/26. :) )
