5 inches lighter

When I left the house yesterday, my hair looked like this:

I've had long hair for over 4 years now and I was getting sick of it. It always got in my way, so I had to put it in a ponytail all the time. A long ponytail:

As you know I've been feeling blah lately and somehow this correlated with finally making a hair appointment . . . 9 months after my last haircut. Let's just say I'm no good at upkeep.

I told the guy I wanted to "chop it all off short" and he took a deep breath and went for it. And now I have cute new hair!

He cut over 5" off! When he was done he confessed that he expected me to panic when he started cutting and change my mind, but I didn't even flinch! I think there was as much hair left on the floor as there is now on my head. I feel about a pound lighter and am very happy with the cut! He's very busy (of course!) so you have to wait for an appointment but I think it's worth it!

Next time I might go even shorter . . .

this is going to sound crazy but you didn’t panic because as drastic as 5" is…you don’t think that much different-truth be told…..you’ve got a pretty face, and your hair won’t change that!
