FO: Son of Aran!

Finally!

(I was making THE strangest face, had to cut it off!)

Totally not the project I thought I was going to finish next, but how do you explain when that mood strikes? You don't!

I started this back in January of 2004, people! It has sat *this close* to done for over 3 years. Enough was enough!

I'm quite happy with how it came out, although the sleeves grew when I washed it so now they're a bit too long. This is a cozy, sweatshirt-like sweater, and I plan to wear it on those dreary winter days when you need something comforting to wear. It's not my usual taste in clothes, but it sure was a fun challenge to knit!

Project specs:
Pattern: Son of Aran
Yarn: Cascade 220, no idea what color or how much (I'd guess 7 balls)
Needles: US size 7
Started: January 2004
Finished: July 16, 2007

-------

I've also been working on the Flower Basket Edited: Frost Flowers and Leaves Shawl and am half-way through the border. I had a moment of panic yesterday when I thought I wasn't going to have enough yarn, so I went digging through all my Koigu stash (you've seen it, you know what that means!) and luckily found another skein. I was so relieved, I knit on it for the rest of the night, so now it's much closer to being done!

-------

Thank you for your kind words about my friend. I'm trying not to dwell, and have been doing better the last few days, but it's hard. He's the first person I've lost, and it hurts.

Damn girl, that sweater looks great. Glad you are now able to scratch something off of your to-do list. Now how many projects have you added?

Beautiful sweater. At least if it’s not the type of sweater you wear, it can be a nice cozy sweater to wear on cerain cold days. Flower Basket Shawl, I didn’t know that made it on your list. Very nice. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. That’s a really hard thing to deal with.

That sweater is knit so perfectly and beautifully it is unbelievable… if I did it, there would be holes and dropped stitches galore. Great job – and very inspirational!!!

Beautiful! :) I hate it when knitting misbehaves – growing and shrinking in unexpected ways.
