FO: Sweater Bangle

This is item #8 that I mentioned in the last post. After I took the pictures and started writing the tutorial, I got curious to see if there was any mention of these online yet . . . and wouldn't you know it, there is already a tutorial online! It was posted 2 weeks ago and even though she was inspired by a different designer bangle than I was, it shows pretty much exactly what I did, so I see no reason to do my own tutorial. The only difference between her instructions and what I did is tiny details:

  1. I knit in the round on DPNs to avoid a break in the fabric.
  2. I knit the piece really tightly and smaller than the bracelet so that it would stretch to fit. My bangle was 11" at the widest point and I knit the "sweater" 10" wide. The bangle was 2.5" around and the knitted piece was about 2.25" long. In the finished bangle you can barely move the knitting around, which I think will increase the life expectancy of the bracelet.

I'm really happy with how this came out and already have tons of ideas for variations on the theme! I'll be putting some up on Etsy, that is if I can part with any!
