Otherwise known as Project You Didn't Even Know I Was Working On:
You like how I tried to copy Ysolda's pose in her pattern photo? We do have slightly different looks though, don't we . . .
I really like how this beret came out, and it was fun to knit. And quick, too! 2 days of knitting was plenty to get it done. I kind of screwed up the beginning rib and it was too loose when I tried it on, so I cut the ribbing off the bottom and knit a new rib down on a smaller needle. Now it's a little too tight but I figure it'll loosen up.
I found the pattern very clear and easy, except I would have preferred the rounds to be numbered so I could more easily find my place (they all say "next round" instead of "round 1" or whatever). I also didn't do the tubular cast on she calls for, more out of laziness than anything else.
I'm already debating making another one in black . . . have I mentioned I've never worn a beret in my life? ;o)

[…] is VERY well written so you’ll have no problems at all. This is my second Ysolda hat (I knit Gretel a million years ago four years ago) and I can confidently say that her patterns have gotten much […]
It looks great on you. I love the cables on the hat.
so chic! I can’t believe you knit it in 2 days. You are supaknitta.
It’s excellent! I did see it and touch it while it sat on the table during my visit to String this weekend… by the way, my skein of String Classica is already most of a hat. I can’t keep my hands off it.
It’s adorable on you, Ivete! And do try the tubular cast on next time. It’s not that much work (much less than the tubular cast off, which is a pain in the you know where) and it looks great.
i’ve been thinking about knitting a beret :) this one looks great!
Wear berets! They look good on you :)
got 8 letters for you A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!
Oh! I’ve never worn a beret either, but I’d so wear that! Very nice! I’ll have to buy the pattern…

Oh, so cute, and I like your solution to fixing the rib. (As an aside – ooh, I didn’t realize String has come up with a new cashmere. I just checked it out on the website. Beautiful colors…)
