I swear, I'm still around!

Running around like crazy, no time for anything lately. Big surprise, I'm sure.

I have absolutely been knitting though. Right now my knitting time is being split between the Bubble Pullover from Knitting Nature and a new lace project (more on that later). Here's a truly craptastic shot of the bubble pullover:

It's overexposed and the color's terrible (picture a gorgeous shade of wine), but the sweater's coming along beautifully! I actually already finished the body, bottom ribbing and one sleeve, and am working on the second sleeve right now. If I don't get sidetracked I should have this finished by next week . . . seeing as the weather's been in the 50s the last few days, who knows when I'll get to wear it, but I'm really enjoying knitting it.

All those crazy pentagons were a trip! It was a little awkward to work on it after there were many pentagons done, but nothing too bad. Although I didn't understand what the instrucitons meant about the long tail cast on for subsequent pentagons, so I just ignored it and did it the way I thought it should be done. Even after having finished that part, I'm still not sure what they meant!

I'm using String Classica and size 7 needles and getting gauge EXACTLY -- even row gauge! That never happens . . .

More sometime (hopefully soon), and I'll try to photograph this project in real light so it does justice to how gorgeous it is IRL.

It’s hard to take pictures with a flash, and sometimes impossible to get natural light. I hate the flash more than anything else on a camera. Maybe for birthday pictures it’s ok but not for yarn or fabrics. With the long tail cast on, you would be starting with a row already on the needles but I can’t see why it mattered for that pattern. Maybe it would stretch more? If they don’t tell ya, there’s no way of knowin!
