Metro cardigan progress

I actually haven't touched this project in a few weeks because it's gotten too big to carry around with me (the downside of knitting something in one piece when you're a subway knitter!) but now that the weather's finally turned I'm getting the urge to put some work into it again. I got pretty far on it already, I'm past the armhole split and have the first front already finished.

Love the cable detail:

I actually messed up one of the cable twists and it's facing the wrong way, but I dare you to find it (Connie, you don't count!). I didn't notice the mistake until several twists later and when I looked at it I decided it didn't bother me enough to rip and redo. Sometimes I'm not able to leave a mistake in JUST BECAUSE I know it's there, but sometimes I employ the "if you couldn't tell while passing me on the street" rule (also sometimes described as "if you couldn't see it from a moving car/horse" which I think is pretty hysterical) . . . guess it depends on the mistake. Although if I were pressed to put myself in a category I would definitely say that I'm a ripper and not a leaver generally!

The weather this past weekend was absolutely gorgeous, sunny but comfortably cool. I've needed a long-sleeve shirt in the mornings and evenings over the last week and now I'm looking forward to my favorite weather: cool enough for a sweater but not cold enough for a jacket. Should be right around the corner with any luck! And I should have this sweater ready just in time . . .

What are you knitting for fall?

Wow, nice progress. I’ve just cast on Buttercup by Heidi Kirrmaier in Drops Alpaca. But I’m keeping my eyes open for some nice cardi design as well. :)
