FO: Georgia's Cowl

For some reason I didn't manage to give this present to my friend Georgia until this week, even though I finished knitting it a year ago! This simple cowl has twisted stitched and baby cables all over it, giving it a ribbing-like appearance that doesn't pull in too much, so you get that nice drapey look. I simply cannot seem to get tired of cowls! There are actually a few more still under wraps (har har) that will hopefully be shown soon . . .

Here's a shot of the cowl laying flat:

I knit this quickly using size 9 needles and about 3.5 skeins of Cascade 128 Superwash Chunky -- I figured with two kids and a job, G shouldn't have to worry about laundering her woolens! The superwash yarn was actually very pleasant to knit with and yields a nice soft fabric with great drape. When I washed and blocked it, I made sure to stretch it out a bit extra so that the fabric would be nice and relaxed. The finished item is just like I hoped!

If anyone would like a pattern written up for this, let me know and I'll go dig out my notes. It's a quick project and won't take me long to write the instructions.

Here's one more glamor shot for you:
