Organizing your winter accessories: A contest

Posted on December 13, 2011 | 71 Comments

Winter is finally officially here and I've started wearing hats and scarves on a daily basis, but until yesterday I was wearing just one or two pieces repeatedly because all the rest hadn't been pulled out from storage yet. Yesterday, I pulled everything out.

What you see above is the mess I ended up with.

I assume all knitters have a huge stash of winter accessories like this but I'm betting most of you are way more organized than I am.

So I need your help!

If you have an answer to this question:

How do you organize winter accessories so that you'll actually wear them?

I'd love to hear it!

To make this more fun for you guys, I've decided to run a contest to get more answers. And of course every contest needs a prize, right?

The Prize

Here's what's up for grabs:

A Lantern Moon woven bag in a lovely shade of green, filled with the following:

  1. One Loreley Scarf Kit in your choice of color
  2. One iKnit iPad Cover Kit in your color choice
  3. A subscription to the Chiagu Collection 2012, meaning every single pattern I release in 2012

How to Enter

Answer the question "How do you organize winter accessories so that you'll actually wear them?" Your answer can be written out, or can be a link to an article in a magazine, or a picture of your storage solution. It's up to you!

Send in your answer in one of these ways:

  1. In a comment on this post
  2. In a wall post on the Chiagu Facebook page (you probably want to "like" it while you're there too!)
  3. In a Tweet that includes the hashtag #chiagu
  4. In a Ravelry forum post of your choosing, magic linked to my designer page on Ravelry
  5. In a blog post on your own blog, with a link back to this blog post

If you want to do more than one of the above, go right ahead! More entries of course mean a greater chance of winning!

Please note that only one entry per venue per person will count towards the prize (meaning if you tweet 7 times, that counts as 1 entry. So don't spam your friends!).

How to Win

A winner will be chosen at random from all the entries received by the end of the contest.

The contest runs for one week, through Tuesday, December 20th, 2011, at midnight in NYC.

On Wednesday, December 21st, I'll pick an entry at random and email the winner to get his/her prizes out. I'll also be aggregating the suggestions and putting them on chiagu.com in a resource page with all the tips, with attributions to you.

Have questions?

Leave them in the comments and I'll get back to you asap.

Good luck on the contest! My accessories thank you in advance for all your help ;o)
