We’re at Vogue Knitting Live Chicago

Posted on March 09, 2018 | 0 Comments

You will find us at Vogue Knitting Live Chicago this weekend (March 9-11, 2018). Koigu sent us beautiful colors in KPPPM/KPM as well as their newest yarns, Chelsea and Othello.  And we have the latest Koigu magazine and the VILL pattern book for aran and chunky weight yarns, VI

After the Vogue show in NY I stitched up more project bags.  They are here at the booth.  Chicago is the last show we are at until the fall.  I’m looking forward to coming up with a new bag design over the summer.

Our booth (217) is right by the fashion show runway. There are plenty of seats all day long  - come visit us and take a break to sit and knit.

You can also follow us on Instagram by following us chiagu.ny

September's New Colors and Koigu Pairings

Posted on September 16, 2016 | 0 Comments

September's new colors chiagu.com

Striking new KPPPM colors are 15% off until September 23rd! From left to right: P106, P112B, P134, P370 and P603.

  • We had P106 earlier this year; however it was more blue with less pink and yellow. Another good choice for baby projects.
  • P112B is a fantastic purple with green and violet - fabulous color for folks who love strong colors.
  • I like to describe P134 as a "dark rainbow", a nice complement to those jackets we wear when it gets cooler.
  • We had P370 previously but it was more grey and not as speckled as this dyelot. It's a lovely blue with teal occasionally peeking out.
  • I'm loving P603 which is orange with some curry yellow. It goes well with our newest KPM color - 2400-0013 which is the color black. (Halloween colors anyone?)

Speaking of KPM - I'm adding the solid colors throughout the year and move the KPM yarn to their own section on the website.

Koigu Pairings KPM/KPPPM yarn

See how the KPM plum picks up the plum in the multicolor skein? One of the customer I know in real life has already scoop up this pairing for her Koigu collection.

I've started to pair up single skeins of KPPPM (multicolors) with single skeins of KPM (solid colors). I call them Koigu Pairings . Let me know how you like them.

New York Sheep and Wool (Rhinebeck) is around the corner and for the second year I will be a vendor at the Indie Untangled Rhinebeck Trunk Show Friday evening. I've been sewing up a storm - there are new prints for the drawstring project bags and (hopefully) I can sneak in one or two new bag styles. I love meeting you guys - stop by and say hello!

Happy 3rd Birthday Koigu Mini Skein Club!

Posted on April 17, 2015 | 0 Comments

A birthday rolls around in April - the Chiagu Mini Skein club is 3 years old!

In addition to the six mini skeins for April:

All April club members received two colors of Koigu KPM mini skeins , a semi-solid fingering weight yarn:

I was leaning toward a different birthday gift but as I was testing it out it stopped working!  I'm planning on adding the KPM colors to the Chiagu website and I thought "Why not send out more yarn in April?".   I fell in love with two colors that I never buy for myself - the curry yellow and the tomato red.  Koigu tends to do that you know, make you look at colors with a fresh eye.

Enjoy club members, and let me know what you are doing with your mini skeins!

February Mini Skeins and Secret Knitting

Posted on February 11, 2015 | 0 Comments

Hi all -  A quick post to let club members know that February Koigu mini skeins are going to the post office today.

Also I'm finishing up some secret knitting - it's a pattern I created and I used Koigu KPM (semi solids and solids).  Hopefully I can talk about the project in a few months.  I'll be back to all things Chiagu in a day or so.
