Pinked Edge Shawl Knitting Pattern

Pinked Edge has a half-circle shape that sits on your shoulders perfectly, the garter stitch shows off the handpainted yarn beautifully, and the unusual edge is fun and slightly challenging to execute.

This design is worked in two sections: first the short-rowed top section is worked side-to-side, then the “pinked” zig-zag border is knit along the circular edge.

To get those big holes in the border, the border starts with a unique crochet process to create the base for the knitting. I’ve had that idea in my head for years and finally figured out how to do it easily and effectively!
