The last couple of days have been filled with weird coincidences, lost accessories (I lost both my leather gloves and my favorite pink umbrella this week), and general strangeness. Things keep popping up that I think I've seen before but can't quite place, people keep mentioning forgetting or losing things, and I'm starting to think mercury's in retrograde or something (whatever that means). In the last week I had two different instances of someone telling me such-and-such pattern looked like someone else's . . . and then today I see the Interweave Spring preview, whose cover sweater is this one:

And all I can think is, "Damn, why didn't I publish my red cardigan already!?!?"

This is a really crappy picture of it, but here's one of my latest designs (which currently sits in the to-be-written pile):

Definitely not the same, but the neckline, closure, sleeve length . . . too close for comfort, at least my comfort. This one will be getting revamped before it sees the light of day.

Guess I can publish an official FO post for this one now . . . since I don't have to keep it quiet until the pattern's ready anymore. Boo.

Ivete, I know it’s a bummer when you see something really close to what you’re working on. Still, I think your sweater is different enough that it merits sharing with the world. I guess we all see and are influenced by the same trends. Your sweater is very cute :)

I really think that yours is significantly different. That sleeve length is pretty popular right now and as for the neck … I would not fuss with it. The fastening method and button “band” is very very different. Go for it.
