November's featured pattern

Posted on November 09, 2013 | 0 Comments

It's a new month, so time for a new pattern to go on sale!

This month, I'm featuring my Leila Shawl and Shawlette pattern:

This is one of my favorite designs ever and also one of the best sellers. I've knit at least 6 of these to give away as presents! You can see them all on Ravelry if you're curious.

You probably already know that I have think of diamonds and zig-zag patterns, so it's no surprise that the motif is featured in this pattern as well. I love the symmetry in the lines and the way the pattern grows as the shawl grows.

This pattern looks great in handpainted yarns like Koigu KPPPM and works with either highly-variegated or subtly-shaded colors. It would also look great in a glowy almost-solid like one of Madelinetosh's colors, or if you want to go for a more classic look, knit this in a solid in a luxurious neutral like beige or silver.

This pattern includes instructions to make both a full-size shawl and a shawlette. I love the heft of the full-size shawl in this pattern. It's really cozy to wear a shawl that covers your back fully. I have gotten a ton of wear out of the blue one you see above.

The shawlette is a quick knit that adds the perfect splash of flare to your outfit:

Leila Shawlette

The shawlette knits up so quickly, it makes for a perfect holiday gift. I can't imagine any woman who couldn't use one of these in her wardrobe!

So what're you waiting for? Get your copy of the Leila pattern now! It's on sale for just $2.50 until the end of November 2013.

October's Featured Pattern and RHINEBECK!

Posted on October 16, 2013 | 0 Comments

I just realized I never posted to the blog to announce October's Featured Pattern!

Well it's not too late to get the pattern for 50% off. It's on sale until the end of the month!

October's Featured Pattern is the Eldridge hat:

This lacy, slouchy hat is perfectly on-trend right now, so you'll get tons of wear out of it whether you knit it up in a classic natural color or a punchy bright. And you'll love knitting the easy-to-memorize simple lace pattern, which knits up so quickly you could finish this hat in just a few nights.

During October 2013, get the pattern for just $2.00. That's 50% off!

Rhinebeck

I waffled about whether to go to Rhinebeck this year, because the last few years, I barely bought anything (because I already have too much yarn!). But as the day got closer and I kept reading all the excited tweets and blog posts about it, I got jealous! So I'm going up on Sunday just for the day. I'll be bringing my big camera and hope to get a new pattern photographed while up there. Wish me luck!

Oh and if you see me walking around, please say hi! I love meeting all you knitters, and will have coupon codes to give away =)

New Loida pattern photos!

Posted on June 10, 2013 | 0 Comments

Yesterday we did a little photo shoot for my next shawl design, which I'm hoping to publish this week (wooohoo!!) and while we were out there, we shot new photos for the Loida shawl. The one you see above is very favorite, but this one shows the shawl better:

The weather's been crazy lately, with one hot, sunny day then one wet, gray day seemingly alternating every other day. The outfit I'm wearing in the photo is very accurate for how I dress on these rainy summer days: sleeveless top, jeans, and flip flops, then something warmer around my shoulders! This little shawl is very lightweight so it doesn't feel at all stuffy or sticky even though it's 100% wool.

It's pretty awesome to be able to wear my woolen handknits in the summer!
