About Us

Chiagu.com brings you knitting patterns designed for your favorite hand-dyed yarns. Show off the gorgeous colors of Koigu, Madelinetosh, and Noro with our patterns and yarn kits.

Hi, and welcome to Chiagu.com!

January 2015 marks a change in ownership at Chiagu. Founder Ivete Tecedor is currently concentrating on her new business venture Gotham Quilts. Running one online business is quite time consuming - running two meant no sleep!  She decided to sell Chiagu to me.

Ivete and I have many things in common: we both are long time knitters, worked in popular NYC yarn stores and have taught hundreds of people how to knit.

And last but not least, we love beautiful yarn. You'll find that Chiagu designs usually showcase gorgeous yarns, whether they are handpainted, semi-solid, or just plain beautiful solids. Koigu is easily our favorite yarn.  Many of the current patterns are original designs by Ivete Tecedor, and in 2015 we'll add more patterns to the collection.

Now that you know more about us, check out our knitting patterns, read our blog  (Ivete's entries up to December 2014), and sign up for the mailing list! I hope you like what you see. If you ever need to get in touch with me, you can use the contact form on this site or email me at info[at]chiagu.com.

Happy knitting!

FAQ

What is this?
Chiagu is an online knitting pattern source selling downloadable PDF instructions for our original handknitting and crochet designs.

What does "Chiagu" mean?

The word itself doesn't mean anything. It's a phonetic spelling of the Brazilian name "Tiago," which for years has been Ivete's favorite name - she just loves the way it sounds!
