Hey, who knew there was a play about knitting?
Loose Knit by Theresa Rebeck is opening this week in New York, and you can buy tickets online to see it! Tickets are $16.50 online or $18.00 at the door.
The play is about women who get together once a week to knit (you can read the full press release if you like to know a lot about a play before you see it).
I found out about this play when one of the producers came to the store to ask for knitting samples to use in the show! So a few of our sweaters will be in a scene where a woman frantically knits 24 hours a day for a week straight . . . the producers want to fill the audience with knitters, for obvious reasons!
If you're in NYC, and have a free night, come join me! I think I'm going on the 27th, but I'm not sure yet. The show opens this Wednesday, the 19th, and closes the 30th. If you check the link up there, it gives the performance schedule.
Apparently this play's been done the last few years but I never heard of it! Who knew?
