That, my friends, is a pair of overalls I sewed for a bear. Seriously! My friend Anne wanted to give this bear to a family member and asked me if I would help her sew the overalls . . . and one thing led to another, we found ourselves in the garment district buying fabric and buttons and thread . . . and then spent an afternoon at my kitchen table sketching and sewing. Anne sewed in all the thread ends and sewed on the buttons, I seriously hate that part!
Did I mention I drew the pattern myself, right onto the fabric?
I'm not really sure how I did it but I'm kind of proud of myself . . . this was certainly my first time drawing a pattern feehand, and probably only my 10th time sewing anything ever. Maybe I should go to design school after all. Wonder if I can put a picture of this bear in my application portfolio?
Adorable!
Thanks for the dropdead cuteness of a teddy bear piccie. Most fine! That’s a great patternworks you started up in the kitchen, too. Brava!
Great job! It looks so cute. You could freelance as a clothing designer for “Build-A-Bear” now ;-)
HAHAHAHA! I was wondering when you were going to put it up. Thanks again!
