I'm stealing a minute between tasks at work to post a quick update . . .
My birthday presents arrived!
That's a fine start to any cookbook collection, wouldn't you say? I've actually already started dabbling in some of the recipes, and started making notes and plans for the ones I want to try in the future. Aparently I now read cookbooks instead of knitting books for entertainment . . . I guess it was bound to happen, given what I've been spending the majority of my free time doing lately!
I actually have been knitting, though. (I know, shocking!) I started another sweater for Adam, and it's been the perfect mindless project, just round and round in stockinette, with a little ribbing at the bottom. So perfect and quick, I already got to the armholes and had to set it aside while I figure out what the sleeves are going to do . . .
I'm actually copying an old sweater of his, a very simply crewneck raglan pullover he's had for at least 4 years. I'm using String Classica that I bought just before jumping ship, the last of my String cashmere stash actually! I bought 15 balls of that perfect, gorgeous navy blue, intending to make a sweater for Adam, but I don't think I'm really going to need this much. If I end up using more than 12 I'll really be shocked, actually. It only took 9 skeins to knit the Bubble Pullover (gee, I never posted an FO shot of that, did I?) after all, so I am definitely safe with 15 for a not-huge man's sweater.
Here's hoping for a couple of leftover balls, I could really use a navy blue cashmere hat! Especially considering it snowed flakes as big as my thumb today . . .
The Artisan Bread in 5 minutes book is fabulous! I was sad when I had to return it to the library. It will definitely be added to my cookbooks.
Happy belated birthday!!
