Lookie who's responsible
Ok so I did stay up till 3 am knitting Rogue. . . that's not why I'm responsible.
I'm responsible b/c I just submitted my income tax! Last year I waited until the absolute last day, this year I'm already done! Well I have to still do state but I'm so proud. I'm getting a decent amount of money back too. ;o)
Speaking of Rogue though, I realized I'm going to have to rip. The body is just too long for my tastes, and I really should have realized it sooner but I was just so.excited.by.this.sweater! I just realized it yesterday when I split the body for the front and back, I checked the schematic and realized the body length from hem & armhole shaping is 14.5". . . which is a length I think is very unflattering on my figure. I like hip length sweaters and that's more like 11" length. . . NOTE TO SELF: check the schematic! Can't believe I did this.
After I try it on tomorrow and see if I really do dislike it as much as I think I will, I'll rip out and redo the second half of the body, omitting one or two of the repeats from rows 33-38 of the body. Maybe I'll take a picture of it first to make myself feel better for all that lost work . . . if there was a way to just take a few inches off the top I'd do it, but not only is there shaping involved, the interesting cabling is at the top so I'd be losing it along with the increases. I've already resigned myself to having to reknit half of what I've done. . . maybe I'll pretend to be an optimist and say "hey you enjoyed it the first time, this is an excuse to enjoy it again." ;o)

Urg, I just hate ripping! Hope you don’t have to do too very much. Don’t just love the way Rogue knits up, though? I adore those cables. Jenna’s so clever! Can’t wait to see yours!

Ivete, thanks for that heads up. I did remember to shorten Tuja, but who knows whether my wits would have been about me for Rogue.
