Welcomed back by a time suck

So we got back last night from a weekend away, filled with parties, receptions, walking, drinking . . . this is us at the party Friday night:

The first thing I did when I got home was check my email, of course. And what was sitting there? My Ravelry invite! I've been waiting weeks for this! Fast forward to about 6 hours later and I'm still not done adding stuff. In a way it feels a bit redundant because I already document all this info elsewhere, but it's great because it links to other people, which is definitely an ability that has some merit and will be useful in the future.

As a result of Ravelry I've started using my Flickr account more and will probably get rid of my FO gallery once Ravelry goes live. It doesn't make sense to re-document everything 15 different ways!

What I have finished so far are all my FOs, Chiagu patterns, and projects that already had some progress shots. Now I have to go through the stuff that hasn't been photographed, and add that, too.

I'm going back and forth on whether to add my stash . . . it seems like overkill to photograph everything and put it up. Any thoughts from those of you already on Ravelry?

Indigo Ripples Skirt

I didn't get as much knitting done this weekend as I had expected, mostly due to stop-and-go traffic on the highway (it makes me car sick). I did get a few inches knit on the Indigo Ripples skirt, and am about to start the frill.

I'm working on a real post about this skirt but with everything I've got to do right now, I'm not sure just when it will happen! I'm off to do laundry right now, TNNA is next week and I can't show up naked . . .

I just got my invite yesterday to Ravelry too. A complete time suck, but ever so much fun! I plan to add my stash to it as well. I actually started documenting my stash of yarn, individually last year on Flickr. So most of it is already pictures, it’s just adding it to Ravelry. It’s nice to have it all in one place, I think.

I love the idea of Ravelry, and got an invite in the beta era, but I still haven’t put anything up. It seems like so much work . . .

Great shoes last entry! I got some great boots from Zappo — they are a lifesaver for those of us in small towns.
